Day 1 - Arrival at Paro Airport; Transfer to Thimpu
Thimphu Chhu River, Local Exploration, Momos
Following your arrival at the Paro Airport, you will be transferred to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Enjoy the captivating views of the sprawling mountains and the Thimphu Chhu River along your journey. Arriving in the city, check-in into a hotel and unwind yourself; evening will be to take a short walk and explore the local surrounding and sample the delicious ‘momo kopi’.
Day 2 - Thimpu City Tour
Art & Craft School, National Library, Handicraft Centre, Zoo, Temples
After breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour of an indigenous hospital that still employs the use of traditional medicine. Also visit, Art & Craft School, National Library, Royal Goldsmith workshops and Handicraft centres. Post lunch, make it to the Memorial Chorten, a memorial of the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck and Motithang Mini Zoo to see the rare ‘Takin’ (national animal of Bhutan). Rest of the day, visit the Drupthob Nunnery Temple followed by an overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 3 - Transfer to Wangdue/Punkaha
Mehsina Village, Chime Lhakhang, Punakha Dzong
After an early breakfast, drive to Wangduephodrang (70km/2 Hours) through the Dochu La Pass (3,100m); if the weather permits, you can have astounding views of the Himalayas.
In Wangdue, take a diversion towards Mehsina Village and visit Chime Lhakhang - the 15th century Temple of Fertility. Post lunch, drive to Punakha, the once a capital of Bhutan to visit Punakha Dzong, one of the scenic dzongs in the country; overnight stay will be in Punkaha/Wangdue.
Day 4 - Transfer to Paro
Local Markets, Shopping
Once you are done with the morning meal, take a drive to Paro, which is one of the gorgeous destinations in Bhutan; enjoy the thrills and charm of every turn on the way. Arriving in Paro, visit the local markets that are swarmed by locals as well as tourists and are popular for their silk, cotton, incense sticks, silver filigree jewellery, gho, kira and prayer flag shops. With the completion of the tour, get back to the hotel and spent overnight.
Day 5 - Paro
Tango Monastery, Rinpung Dzong, Nya-mey Zam, Ta Dzong Museum
Today morning, after breakfast, take a drive of around 12km in the north-direction and hike up to the Tango monastery. Take your time to explore the monastery that is also a prominent Buddhist learning centre in Bhutan and is the residence of the Desi Tenzin Rabgye, the reincarnated form of the monk who built Tango. The monastery visit will be followed by a visit to Ta Dzong, a museum that is one of its own kind in the entire South Asia and Rinpung Dzong.
Post lunch, make it to the Nya-mey Zam; locally known as the ‘Bridge with no Fish’, that connects Paro and dzong. Evening will be meant for leisure stay at the hotel with an overnight stay.
Day 6 - Transfer to Paro Airport
